STUDENT OPTOMETRIC LEADERSHIP NETWORK

 THE PRIVATE PRACTICE

June 6th - 8th, 2024

Nashville, Tennesee

ABOUT US

The purpose of the Student Optometric Leadership Network (SOLutioN), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is to provide national unification and recognition of student optometric private practice and practice management organizations, support and connect local organization leaders, and promote the future of private-practice optometry. SOLutioN provides common resources for leadership training among the student leaders of optometric private practice and practice management organizations. SOLutioN holds an annual conference connecting optometry students with networking and career opportunities; we exist to support students in their pursuit of private-practice optometry.

FOR STUDENTS

Embarking on a journey to inspire and educate future optometric doctors, our mission bridges the gap in curricular education. We empower thought leaders, sculpting the profession from its earliest stages – the student level.

FOR DOCTORS

We facilitate collaboration, providing a space for doctors of optometry to convene, exchange ideas, and collectively enhance and share the practice management advancement of private practice optometry.

FOR OPTOMETRY

We aim to keep the practices and traditions of true private practice optometry ownership alive and thriving for a new generation of young OD's. Through education and connection we seek to be a resource for the future of business optometry.

OUR VISION

FOR PRIVATE PRACTICE CLUBS

Empowering private practice club leaders, we serve as a vital resource for both incoming and outgoing presidents. As a centralized hub, we offer educational materials, funding opportunities, and expert speakers to support PPCs at every optometry school.

FROM SOLN MEMBERS

SOLN is my favorite conference to attend as an optometry student. It is where I found connections to people from all over the nation with the same interest in private practice as me. This allowed me to expand my network, both personally and professionally, and now I look for my SOLN friends at all other conferences I attend. SOLN really helps to develop the topics we do not discuss while in optometry school - like business, marketing, and law - and this is really great to expand my knowledge base and connections as I work towards my goal of owning a private practice. This also helps to create relationships with doctors and professionals interested in coming to your school to host a private practice club event that students really enjoy.
